Creating a Fundraising Page

The Jonathan Jaques Children’s Cancer Center Torch Run - Champions Run for Life is a fun day of celebration & hope.  Family & friends join current & previous patients, who carry a torch as they run, walk, wheel or are carried the 1/8 mile relay.

The Torch Run is the primary fundraising event for the center. While there are a few corporate sponsors & donors, it is the family and friends of patients whose small donations add up and provide a significant amount of support for Jonathan Jaques Children's Cancer Center.   Your Friends and Family cannot take away your child’s illness, but supporting the cancer center that can is an opportunity they are happy to participate in.

Creating a fundraising page is not just an easy way to raise money for Jonathan Jaques Children's Cancer Center, it is a way for the friends and family of the pateint to join together and actively participate in your child's journey back to health!

All donations are tax deductible.
The #1 reason people donate is because they are asked – and every amount is important!!

Why Fundraise?

  • Friends and Family of the patient can join together as a team to raise money for the Jonathan Jaques Children's Cancer Center, and an online fundraising page is an easy way for these memebers to donate. Everyone likes to be part of a team and this gives those in your child’s life a way to actively participate in your child’s journey back to health.

  • Friends and Family are encouraged to join the patient attending to show support & camaraderie.  Financially supporting your team lets them do something even more tangible.

  • The dollar amount is not important – most people cannot afford to give large amounts of money – but every amount is significant and adds up.   Check out our Fundraising Tips for ways for your friends and family to help you raise money >>>

  • Often the patient’s school, sports team, club or troop, etc. will fund raise as a project – they also know people who may not know your child, but when they hear your story, want to support the team by donating.

  • Donating gives people who can’t attend the event the opportunity to still be part of the team.

  • When an employee’s child is facing major health challenges, employers want to help.  Many employers match donations, doubling the amount someone gives to your team and are a good source for support.

  • Patients love having a team of family & friends – they choose a name for the team and some teams personalize the t-shirts, hats, etc.  The Torch Run is a fun & inspirational day for everyone and a respite from hospital visits, tests, interrupted schedules, etc.
